gettin crafty again

As promised, today I made some time to make some crafts. I was getting a little jealous of all the cool fall ideas I'd seen on people's blogs, so I just had to join the bandwagon.

 I'm planning on using this in a scrapbook once the month is up.

I collected these leaves four years ago, from the house I grew up in. I'm glad I finally found a use for them, rather than just keeping them pressed in a book in a drawer.

The pennants are cut out from paper bags I got when I ordered clothes from ShopRuche.com.

These are just little things. I did them in about an hour. I don't want to get too into decorating my room because I'm probably going to be moving in a month, but I wanted to get into the fall spirit. And like I said before, I was jealous of all the other cool stuff people were making. :-P hehe

today i turned a cardboard shoebox into a wooden box. it was pretty easy. i used woodgrain contact paper. ( not sure where it came from.. my mom got it a few years ago. im thinking walmart? ) but im pretty pleased with how it turned out. :)

men's jewelry

ive never made men's jewelry before. a friend of mine asked me to make him a necklace that looks like the rosary from boondock saints. i searched high and low trying to find a cross that was comparable, and FINALLY i found one- at walmart, of all places. they had these wooden beads that i was looking for too. i was so excited to find them there. i had actually tried to make this several times, with different beads, different cords, and different crosses, but i just wasnt happy with the result. unlike most things in life, with my art, i can never say, "eh, good enough," it has to be perfect. anyway, im very pleased with how this one turned out, and now im thinking of making a few more men's pieces to sell at the street fair. if i have time, you know.
