Spread the Love Week- Day Two

Last night I had the idea to make little bracelets and stamp "I LOVE YOU" on them. (inspired by these wish ribbons) But instead I decided to make my own stamp. I had bought a stamping block and carving tool a while back for Elsie's Style School, but I never got around to using them. Well today I finally did. I think I can count this as something on my goals list, too.

It reads, "Serang heyo," my favorite Korean phrase. It means I love you, and it was the first thing i learned to say/read/write in Korean.

I made a bunch of ribbon bracelets. Aren't they cute? I made a trip to Jo Ann Fabrics today to pick up fabric paint, and while I was there, I saw this cute little egg whisk. My mom had mentioned she wanted to get a whisk, but she doesn't like to spend money, so she hasn't gotten one. At first I passed it up, thinking, "If she really wants it, she can buy it herself," and started walking on. Then I stopped dead in my tracks and remembered what this week is all about.

My mom's gunna have the cutest, happiest, most cheerfuly rainbow whisk ever. I hope she smiles every time she makes eggs. Oh, and after I checked out, I gave the cashier one of the cards I made, and told her about Spread the Love Week. Which was awkward for me cause I'm super shy. :] But I did it anyway. selling myself

I opened my little etsy shop way back in February. I made a little logo and a shop banner and some business cards, and I was a happy girl. At the time, I had ideas of the direction I wanted to go with this. Five months later, I'm starting to see that the plans I have are changing. Not in a bad way, at all, just different. When I opened my etsy shop, I was a little concerned that the items and branding were only featuring one aspect of my personality, which was a problem, since my personal style chances from one day to the next. (one day i wear ruffles and lace, and the next day i wear a t-shirt with dinosaurs on it) Anyway, right now I'm in the process of re-branding by shop and maybe even the blog. I want my whole personality to show through- the fun, the classy, the dorky, and bad-ass sides of me. :D *maybe the bad-ass side and the dorky side go together*

Here is the first step in this process. I made new business cards! *yaaay*

I really think this design works better with the items in my shop. I use a doily as a prop in a lot of my photos, and I stamp it on my gift bags when I put an order out in the mail. So I used a doily punch to stick with the theme. (as well as make my cards stand out) and I used a hand-written font to stress that my items are handmade by me personally. The pink makes this design more feminine, and I kept the tan and brown colors because I want to keep it natural. What do you think?? Comments? Suggestions?

this is what im all about

i love love love making things. i REALLY love making things pretty. i made this soap a couple weeks ago, then i thought i would make them pretty with little labels. (i have 3 to 7 bars of each of these) before i switched my major over to fine arts, i was a graphic design major. so making labels and things is super fun for me. im pretty happy with them. :) i worked my butt off too - it was time consuming.. anyway, i need help. how much should i charge for each bar at the street fair saturday? i was originally thinking $4 each, since i really put a lot of work into them. but do you think ill sell more at $3? is $4 too expensive for a street fair? help help help!
