September Spending

Ok, so a month ago I posted about how I was going to stop unnessesary spending through the month of September. I had wanted to save my money, and stop cluttering up my room. Well.. .. September's over and I bought myself a present! ^^

It's a label maker that prints both English and Korean words! AMAZING! And it's pink! I had to have it! :]
It's from my new favorite shopping site, AtSeoul.com. They sell all kinds of cute stationary and accessories. Such a cute place. Check it out!

Honesly though, I think I did a pretty good job on my September spending. The only unnessesary things I bought this months were: autumn spice votice candles, black and clear nail polish, 3 camis tops. I'm not counting art supplies or the optical mouse I bought, because I feel that that's an investment. I'm studying to be a fine artist with a concentration in illustration, so art supplies are kind of important.
And I bought thing for other people; For my dad's birthday, I bought him an apple tree to plant at our new house, and my friend moved away to go to Ohio State University, so I got her a OSU hoodie and had all our friends sign it with farewell wishes. And I bought food.. A crap ton of food.
All in all though, I think I did a pretty good job with saving. I can't wait to get my new label maker!!! I'm gunna label e v e r y t h i n g . <3

September Ramblings

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have an hour and a half long break between my classes. I've been spending that time sitting alone in the grass, either knitting, studying Korean, or doodling in my sketchbook. Probably my favorite time of the day. I'm a total introvert, like that.

I have to admit, I cheated today. I bought something I didn't need. Candles. Up until just a few days ago, I was still clinging to summertime. But now I've accepted that it's fall and my beloved 90some degree heat is gone. It's cold. I love the beauties of fall, but I hate the cold. So I bought some candles to help get me into the autumn spirit. But in my defence, I really wanted to $14 pumpkin clove candle from Target. But I got the $2.47 votive 6-pack from Hob Lob. Godda save up my money for Korea! <3

Just randomly, I wanted to share my favorite snack. Annie's Bunnie Graham Friends. They're cute, delicious, and they make a positive statement about racial equality. Kind of like Kashi's Good Friends Cereal.. *ahem* .. :]
A little thanks again to Jaymie, one of my Dear Darlings Penpals, for this awesome little owl necklace. Seriously. Love it. Mmm! Check out her blog! She has some really beautiful illustrations. (I'll be writing back to all of you soon.)

And just in case you need a reminder:

I was planning on making a really awesome little fall decoration for my room today, but I ran out of time.. :-/ Maybe tomorrow?! Look forward to that. ;)

i'm sick. i have affluenza.

No, not influenza. I have affluenza. Defined as : affluenza, n. a painful, contagious, socially transmitted condition of overload, debt, anxiety and waste resulting from the dogged pursuit of more.

I have too much stuff. Too many clothes, too many craft supplies, too much jewelry, too much junk.  My room is looking cluttered and my closet is so stuffed. And my wallet - is - empty.

I'm giving myself a challenge. The whole month of September, I'm not going to buy any more stuff.
No more clothes.
No more trinkets.
No more candles.
No more whatever.

I mean, I'm sure there will still be things that I'll need to get, like toiletries and whatnot. And if a friend invites me out I can't turn 'em down. But I need to be frugal.

I want to save up to go to Korea.

Kind of a silly goal, I think, being that I'm too scared to drive to the mall by myself, but for some reason, I'm so in love with Korea, I think I'll have the courage to actually do it. Like when I was in 8th grade and my dad and I went to Minnesota. At the time I was soo obsessed with Minnesota (because Josh Hartnett lived there.. yeah. .. .). We got a hotel room with a view of a parking lot and the roof of some restaurant. But I opened up those curtains and was so overwhelmed with joy. I was in Minnesota!! And the parking lot/roof view was breathtaking to me. <3

Yeah, I think Korea's gunna be like that.

So for the next month, I'm going to confess everything I buy. Judge me harshly.

Not gunna lie though, this t-shirt from threadless makes me want to break this vow right now!  lol!
 HA! .. ooh goodness. :-P

because i'm awesome, that's why.. ;)

yesterday, a customer gave me a tip. a whole dollar! lol i thought it was pretty awesome, because i'm a cashier- i don't get tips. this lady was talking to me, just having a nice conversation about jewelry making, and knitting and crocheting, when she threw a dollar at me and said, "oops look what happened on accident.." with a wink. i think she just liked having someone to talk to. <3

going to the flea market with my parents today! i hope i get some good finds!

rain rain, seriously, GO AWAY!

.
.

ive been working my butt off the past 3 months or so, and spending every dime i made on this street fair (supplies, table clothes, etc.) and the whole thing was a bust.. it rained all day, until about 4, leaving about 1 hour of real business. i spent $85 on the booth rental, and made $130, so i made $45. not counting the hundreds of dollars ive spent on supplies... anyway, i hate to be negative. im not mad about all this, im just a little let down. i was really looking forward to a successful day at the street fair.. oh well. ill try again in october. im not a quitter when its something i love.

you can see, the front of our tables are SOAKED. i had to move everything up about 3 feet for the first few hours of the fair.

we were so desperate, by 4:00 we were selling our soap and candles for buy one get one free- just to sell something. that would be two bars of soap for $3... yeah. and two candles for $6ish.

but like i said, im an optimist, soo im not TOO broken up about the whole thing. not the end of the world.

in other news, the boy in the booth next to me was extremely cute. i think ive seen him at the buddhist temple. hes thai, and i dont know anything about him, except that hes a very very handsome boy. i didnt talk to him, although i kinda wanted to. i just dont really have the confidence. i say stupid things to people who im NOT smitten with, soo yeah i can only imagine what dumb crap id say. plus, i like being single and free right now- i dont want the hassle of romance and heartbreak. *i know, i know, thats no kind of attitude* aanyway, my point is, cute boy. i like him.
