awesomeness!

i got an email today from megan of Mutual Of Omaha. She invited me to take part in the "Aha Moments" campaign, on behalf of my online business, angie may handmade. which to me, is pretty exciting!! i set up an appointment for tuesday evening to be interviewed on camera for the campaign.  i *REALLY* hope my cheeks have quit being swollen by then... darn wisdom teeth!

in other news, im ALMOST done with my portrait for melissa at the blog melissastuff. i just have to finish up this guy's little hand and ear. what do you think?

and i got this cd in the mail yesterday. i LOVE it! its called "explore" from the artist "M" or Minwoo. you know, the korean popstar that i'm kind of totally in love with?? mmm.. and dont mind the fact that i have no makup i this picture.. ive been hanging around my house in my jammies the past few days with a swollen face, i dont think makup would do a whole lot for me at this point. speaking of which, here's a really really unflattering picture of me with my swollen cheeks. pity party anyone? lol jk.

i'll be hanging out with my oldest niece and youngest nephew tomorrow! which is a great thing, except i look like a monster and i can hardly talk or smile. lol we will see what happens.. ooh and i finished up all my shopping for melissa at oh my darling! i was paired up with her for the color me happy project at Adventures in Love and Happiness. here's a little hint at one of the items! ;) you'll never guess!

you'll love it, melissa!

good news and bad news

ok ill start with the bad news:
  • having my wisdom teeth taken out was just as aweful as i was expecting.
  • my cheeks are swolen up super huge, so i cant talk
  • the lady at the dentist office made me take off my lucky bracelet that my buddhist monk friend gave me 5 months ago (havent taken it off since i got it)
  • i cant eat anything
  • my macbook (aka my-precious-baby-that-means-more-to-me-than-anything)  is broken and i have to wait a week to get it back *screams*
  • the house that my parents and i are looking to move into has a huge mold problem in the basement
but you  know what, im an optimist. bad news doesnt get me down. for real. here's the good news:
  • the worst of my wisdom teeth pain in over
  • my cheek swelling will go down in the next couple days, and its a good excuse to take some time off work
  • my lucky bracelet wasnt too tight, so i could slip it off instead of cut it off (its the embroidery floss kind) and the first thing i did when i regained conciousness was put it back on
  • in a couple days, ill be able to eat whatever i want
  • my dad took my mac in and he agreed to pay $50 to have them save everything on the hard drive (which was nice because my dad's a bit of a penny pincher)
  • other than the mold, the house we are looking at is awesome and i really hope we get it!!

cant wait to eat food again! mmm..

i love my computer too much to ever rest a mug on it..

here's hoping for a bigger backyard and a walk in closet!
(all found via weheartit.com)
let's talk more about this house. right now i live in a tiny house with my parents. tiny tiny. they let me have the biggest bedroom, since they know i have tons of craft supplies and need room to store it and work on it. its still not enough space, though. this house that we are looking at is just about perfect. theres some damage, like holes in walls and broken doors, and or course the mold, but its nothing my family hasnt takled before. my dad buys rundown homes and fixes them up to rent, kind of as a side job. so this should be a piece of cake. its much much bigger, and it has a huge yard. its in a quiet neighborhood, across from a park, and only 5 minutes farther away from my work. lets cross out fingers that the bank accepts our offer!

i havent done anything crafty in a while.. i hate that. i think theres some drawing and sewing in my near future.

oooooh nooo...

so my computer crapped out on me.. im really really upset about it. its a macbook. very expensive, very awesome. it had been kinda acting up the past few days, but i was just crossing my fingers that everything would be ok. i think its time to take her to the computer doctor. :( this is the worst possible timing, because tomorrow, bright and early, i get my wisdom teeth taken out. all four of them. and my dentist said the bottom two (not sure why) are a litte unusual, hence difficult. -great.- and i requested off the next four days from work, sooo.. OMG! what am i gunna do without a computer, sitting in my room for the next four days??.. *stressing out* well at least ill have some time to work on my tan.

i dont wanna post any negative posts here. soo to lighten the mood, head on over to the youtube and check out david after dentist, i just hope i'm this drugged up that i feel no pain. yaaay for anestesia!  :)

and since i'm not on my normal computer, i dont have many picture's saved. i hope you enjoy this random shot of my mom walking the cat. :)

fourth of july

when i was growing up, my family lived in a big house with a big yard out in the country. it was a tradition that my dad and cousins and i would drive across the state line to indiana and buy $200 worth of fireworks. fireworks are illegal here in ohio, but hey, everyone else is doing it. ;) after firework shopping, we would all get pizza hut. on the fourth, all my relatives would gather at our house for a bbq and fireworks show. unfortunately, 3 years ago, we had to move closer to the city, and we dont get our own backyard fireworks anymore.

today my parents took me to Trader's World flea market in Cincinnati. i was a little less than impressed.. when i think of flea market, i think if giant awesome garage sale. but trader's world had every other booth selling cell phone accessories, cornhole games, ugly handbags, knives, or beef jerky. ew. i came home empty handed..

even with that disappointment, i had a good day. i walked to target at 7, when the sun was just setting and the light looked really pretty. it was so beautiful, you can't help but have that "so in love with life" feeling. here are some pics i took on the way home from target.

because i'm awesome, that's why.. ;)

yesterday, a customer gave me a tip. a whole dollar! lol i thought it was pretty awesome, because i'm a cashier- i don't get tips. this lady was talking to me, just having a nice conversation about jewelry making, and knitting and crocheting, when she threw a dollar at me and said, "oops look what happened on accident.." with a wink. i think she just liked having someone to talk to. <3

going to the flea market with my parents today! i hope i get some good finds!

in love with life

yesterday was one of those days that you just feel so happy all day that you want to burst.
according to the book "Buddhist Traditions and Thai Culture," these are the responsibilities a man has for his wife in Thailand:
  1. being courteous to her
  2. appreciating her
  3. being faithful to her
  4. sharing authority with her in family matters
  5. giving her presents
presents??.. anyone know any single thai boys..?

yesterday was such a beautiful day. here are a few inspiring pics to carry that feeling over through the weekend.

i downloaded this. :] guess who was dancing around in her underwear to korean pop music at 1am last night.
Me.

A Beautiful Mess and Siam Orchid

check it out, everyone! i'm on A Beautiful Mess!! My faaavorite blog! i came across elsie's blog 2 or 3 years ago. i work at hobby lobby, and our store sold her "love, elsie" brand scrapbooking products. i fell in love with them, so i googled "love, elsie." and found A Beautiful Mess! i've been reading religiously ever since. <3
elsie is such an inspiration to me. really.

i made these nifty little buttons, so you too can share a link with the world! ;) hehe. copy and paste the code from the left sidebar to your blog. pretty please! :D

and in case you want to know, this is how my day went:

if you recall, i set up a both at the Street Fair in Yellow Springs, OH a few weeks ago. the booths on either side of me were selling Thai merchandise. I thought this was cool because i'm really interested in asian cultures, if you couldn't tell.. anyway, one lady gave a business card, and i emailed her a few times, talking about her shop that she's opening in New Carlisle, OH. well my bff, amber, invited me to go shopping with her today, then mentioned that she would like to check out the store, the Siam Orchid, and i was like, "heck yeah! let's go!" :D the store is even cuter than i had imagined! they have really cool authentic Thai merchandise at greeeat prices. unfortunately, they weren't open yet, (grand opening july 3rd) but the owners were there and let us in to look around and chit-chat. i didn't take any photos, because i thought it would be a little weird of me.. maybe next time?

on my shopping list for next visit:
  • painted mango wood bangle bracelets (its super hard to find bangles that arent too big, and these fit just right!)
  • ceramic essential oil diffuser
  • maybe a ring or a pair of earrings??
i cant wait to go back!
