im so happy to see so many unique weddings these days, where things are a little more laid back and it becomes a real party to celebrate the bride and groom. my best friend amber recently got engaged, and lately i've been thinking of all the things we can do together to get ready for the big day. i stumbled upon paul and cassie's wedding photos here and fell in love.  the blog is the portfolio of jonas peterson and he takes some really beautiful pictures. check out his blog here.

remember me? i'm angie. we used to be good friends, you and i. then i got busy. and lazy. and uninspired. and i'm sorry for that. but i'm back now. i'm living the dream life again and i have a lot to share with you.

i haven't decided if i'll be making a new blog or not. this blog, "angie may handmade" was created mainly for the purpose to promote my etsy shop, not gunna lie. but i've since given up on becoming an etsy seller and now i just want to share with the world things i see and do that i feel are cool. i want to take it in a new direction, and i would love to get a fresh start with a new blog. i'll let you know if and when i have blog #2 up and running. <3

1) I'm one of those people who are cold all the time. I hate air conditioning.

2) I would love to have a pet skunk one day.

5) I have a phobia of driving places that I'm not familiar. I really can't do it unless someone is in the car with me. Even then, I freak out. I hate this about myself.
6) I'm a vegetarian because I love animals sooo much. I want a pet chicken too.
7) When I was 15, I got sent to the Principal's office because the same teacher caught me and my boyfriend making out three times in on the same day. When I got back to class, my a-hole physics teacher teased me about it until I cried.

In other news, I was 10 days late registering my classes for fall quarter.. (i thought registration started on the 15th, not the first..) so needless to say, ALL THE CLASSES WERE FULL!.. I had to register for the bottom-of-the-barrel, oh-God-please-no-not-that, kind of classes.. like a drawing class at 8 in the morning that lasts until noon, and a class on the history of mideval Europe.. *kill me* lol  I'm going to keep checking back to see if there's any openings. Cause I'm really REALLY not looking forward to fall quarter. I'm all about learning new things, but I think this will be torture. gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaugh!!... this is gunna suuck.. :-P All I can do is laugh and shake my head.

Also, I just now overheard my mom is on the phone telling my dad, "Did you know that a spider is not an insect? And neither in an earthworm! An insect is something that has 6 legs. Did you know that, Larry? I learned something new today." ..I can only imagine my dad's response..

About a week ago, I went to Dayton to record my Aha Moment for Mutual of Omaha. A lady from Mutual of Omaha had seen my blog and invited me to participate. I blogged about it here.

An Aha moment is kind of like an epiphany. It's a moment of inspiration that changes your life. For me, my life changed when I heard the quote, "dress for the job you want, not the job you have." it made me realize that there's more out there than the little mediocre life I was living; I could be anything I want, but something would have to change.

i got an email today from megan of Mutual Of Omaha. She invited me to take part in the "Aha Moments" campaign, on behalf of my online business, angie may handmade. which to me, is pretty exciting!! i set up an appointment for tuesday evening to be interviewed on camera for the campaign.  i *REALLY* hope my cheeks have quit being swollen by then... darn wisdom teeth!

in other news, im ALMOST done with my portrait for melissa at the blog melissastuff. i just have to finish up this guy's little hand and ear. what do you think?

and i got this cd in the mail yesterday. i LOVE it! its called "explore" from the artist "M" or Minwoo. you know, the korean popstar that i'm kind of totally in love with?? mmm.. and dont mind the fact that i have no makup i this picture.. ive been hanging around my house in my jammies the past few days with a swollen face, i dont think makup would do a whole lot for me at this point. speaking of which, here's a really really unflattering picture of me with my swollen cheeks. pity party anyone? lol jk.

i'll be hanging out with my oldest niece and youngest nephew tomorrow! which is a great thing, except i look like a monster and i can hardly talk or smile. lol we will see what happens.. ooh and i finished up all my shopping for melissa at oh my darling! i was paired up with her for the color me happy project at Adventures in Love and Happiness. here's a little hint at one of the items! ;) you'll never guess!

A Beautiful Mess and Siam Orchid

check it out, everyone! i'm on A Beautiful Mess!! My faaavorite blog! i came across elsie's blog 2 or 3 years ago. i work at hobby lobby, and our store sold her "love, elsie" brand scrapbooking products. i fell in love with them, so i googled "love, elsie." and found A Beautiful Mess! i've been reading religiously ever since. <3

elsie is such an inspiration to me. really.

and in case you want to know, this is how my day went:

if you recall, i set up a both at the Street Fair in Yellow Springs, OH a few weeks ago. the booths on either side of me were selling Thai merchandise. I thought this was cool because i'm really interested in asian cultures, if you couldn't tell.. anyway, one lady gave a business card, and i emailed her a few times, talking about her shop that she's opening in New Carlisle, OH. well my bff, amber, invited me to go shopping with her today, then mentioned that she would like to check out the store, the Siam Orchid, and i was like, "heck yeah! let's go!" :D the store is even cuter than i had imagined! they have really cool authentic Thai merchandise at greeeat prices. unfortunately, they weren't open yet, (grand opening july 3rd) but the owners were there and let us in to look around and chit-chat. i didn't take any photos, because i thought it would be a little weird of me.. maybe next time?

on my shopping list for next visit:

• painted mango wood bangle bracelets (its super hard to find bangles that arent too big, and these fit just right!)
• ceramic essential oil diffuser
• maybe a ring or a pair of earrings??

i cant wait to go back!

i finished my batman drawing today! yaay! honestly, this is the first "just because" drawing that ive done in years. i would soo like to get back into doing this regularly. it feels so good to draw. and i need to be working on a custom portrait for someone. not enough time in the day.. maybe if i would quit watching so much darn tv! :-P

and i just purchased july ad space on Elsie's blog, A Beautiful Mess. im just about to go shopping, and when i get back, im planning on updating the etsy a little bit, getting ready for july.
